DR. ETHAN LEVIEN

The head and heart of Therapy in the Hills is Dr. Ethan Levien SLPD, CCC-SLP, who has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2013 and working to enrich and improve the lives of children since 2006.

​

Dr. Ethan earned his Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University in 2022.  He attended the University of Florida for his Bachelors of Health Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, his Bachelors of Arts in Linguistics, and his Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology.

Dr. Ethan is the Vice President of the Jamaica Speech, Language, and Hearing Diaspora Association as well as a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, the Caribbean Speech-Language Hearing Association, the National Black Association of Speech-Language and Hearing, and the Linguistics Society of America.

​

Always eager to integrate his interests in linguistics, language variation, autism, and literacy, his personal and professional efforts are focused on changing how learners of all kinds use and think about language, particularly when managing behavior and communication issues. Across a myriad of roles, his ultimate aim for himself and others is always to foster useful ways of thinking and to leverage language as a tool for solving problems.

Dr. Ethan has spent much of the last 20 years deeply involved in the work of serving school-aged children from a variety of backgrounds. He is experienced in school, home, outpatient, and telepractice settings, integrating academically and professionally developed interests in linguistics, cultural and linguistic diversity, autism, and literacy to best provide services to populations with an array of needs.
